Football games are required and graded activities for all marching band members
The report time is 5:30 at each school
Additional details can be viewed on the program google calendar
Marching Band Course Grading
Each rehearsal and performance is graded.
Practices are similar to homework, football games to quizzes and competitions to tests.
If a student is in attendance, they are typically given full credit
If a student is absent from any activity for any reason, they are given a 0 or missing assignment. If the band directors approve an absence for an excused reason, a makeup assignment will be provided to replace the missing grade.
Our first competition event is only 3 weekends away. The group will be learning new material this week, perfecting things the following week and then tackling all of the competition logistics the 3rd week. There are a lot of logistics to get our very large team ready and down the road.
We appreciate all of the parents' help to proactively coordinate the student schedules and encourage your child to not miss band activities for unexcused reasons.
Our seasons have been shorter recently, with an ending date prior to Halloween. Some years, we have attended events in the middle of November. Due to the shorter seasons, we have limited time to accomplish similar goals.
